The Project FAQs

  • What is the purpose of the project?

Its main purpose is to help to educate and promote  the development of people with physical disabilities  by showing them from a different and previously unseen perspective using visual media.

  • What are the goals of the workshop?

The main goals of the workshop are firstly, to showcase and promote our documentary titled 'Walking The Path' that focuses on the life of a successful South African man who happens to be a person with disability, using his story as a educational and motivation tool that is  targeted at not just people with disabilities but also the members of the public especially corporate sponsors, government officials. Secondly, these workshops will serve as a platform for other successful people with disabilities to share their own stories and experiences thereby inspiring others to follow their lead. Thirdly, the workshop will also serve as a networking hub for people on both sides of the discussion to get to meet each other, learn more about each other and explore new ways to help and promote the integration of people with disabilities into today's SA corporate world.

  •  When will the workshop take place?

We are looking at running the workshop from the end of the first quarter of 2017 as this is when we are also planning to premiere our documentary 'Walking the Path" which is based on the life of a person with disability.

  • Why we chose Cape Town

The choice of Cape Town is because of many reasons from the fact that the company is based in Cape Town and the main subject of our documentary also lives and works in Cape Town which helps with the logistics of the project to the fact that the Western Cape and its government have been a big promoter of disability friendly initiatives and policies ranging from making disability friendly accommodations on their public transit networks and in the hospitality business to working with firms such as DWDE to further promote the welfare and skills of people with disabilities. Let's not forget the tourism factor also as Cape Town is quite a beautiful place and is a favorable vacation destination for people around the including vacationers that are people with disabilities..

  • Why you should support this project

Funding and supporting this project will not only help to make this workshop a reality but also help to promote our main message about this workshop which is that living with a physical disability does not limit one's ambition or goals in life and that the South African society as a whole is making strides to promote this new positive message and outlook in every facet of life.
