A great campaign takes hard work and thoughtfulness, and we want you to feel empowered every step of the way. That’s why we’re always here to help.

We’ve been helping our campaigners raise funds since 2015. Along the way we’ve built all kinds of tools and resources to make campaigners as successful as possible. We recommend starting with the campaigning section of the Jumpstarter Guidelines, and by looking around on our blog. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact us and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

The Jumpstarter Trust & Safety Team ensures our community is safe for everyone by combining best-in-class technology and a team dedicated to security.

5. Love for Non-profits

Jumpstarter offers a 50% discount on our platform fees for any campaign that is raising funds for a Non-profit institution registered in South Africa. Contributions to these campaigns will be processed by PayGate through our Merchant account.

6. Two ways to raise money

Launching a campaign is absolutely free. Before you launch your campaign, you’ll choose between For-Profit and Non-Profit Funding.

If you reach your goal:

• With a For-Profit Funding campaign you’ll keep funds you raised, but be charged a fee of 7% of your raised funds.
• If you’re a Verified Non-profit, your fee is only 3.5%.

If you don’t reach your goal:

• With a For-Profit Funding campaign you won’t keep the funds you raised, all of your contributors will receive credit to use on Jumpstarter Crowdfunding, and you won’t be charged any fees.
• With a Non-Profit Funding campaign you won’t keep the funds you raised, all of your contributors will receive credit to use on Jumpstarter Crowdfunding, and you won’t be charged any fees.

If you receive funds, there is an additional payment processing fee of 1-3.5%, depending on your selected payment options.

7. Contributing is rewarding

We’ve found that people usually contribute to campaigns for four different reasons: people, passion, participation, and perks.

Often, people contribute to support other people—maybe contributing to the campaign of a friend or another inspiring individual. Others contribute because they’re passionate about a mission, such as women’s health or elementary education. Others are motivated by a desire to participate in something big, like building a new community center in their hometown. And often, people contribute to receive perks, the cool things or experiences they get in return for their contributions.
