Where Rainbows Meet Training and Development Foundation is a Non‐profit organization located in Vrygrond, Cape Town, South Africa.
In 2008, we started out by meeting the needs of the disadvantaged youth in our community. Since then, we have expanded our efforts to help the needs of everyone in our community. Our primary objective is to achieve social and economic improvement within the community of Vrygrond and its surrounding areas.
Most of the children suffer from social ill backgrounds such as drug and alcohol abuse, they are neglected by their parents who show no love, attention or any kind of interest in them due to their parents abusing these substances. These children are malnourished and lack education and skills. Unfortunately, most of the children in our community don’t have the opportunity to have a Christmas.
In 2014, we held a successful Christmas event, giving over 2,500 children a Christmas gift, which included:
- clothes,
- educational materials,
- hygienic materials,
- toys,
- and a meal.
It was the highlight of the year for both kids and adults in the community. Our event was a way for us to show the children that others care and can help them if they need support.
This year, we want to have a bigger impact and expand our efforts to reach over 5,000 children in Vrygrond and its surrounding communities, but we can’t do this without your help!
Our Christmas events will be held on December 10th and 14th in different communities.
